Go To Websites

Here are a few of our “go to” websites at the Iowa Western Entrepreneurial Center and SBDC:

www.entrepreneur.com – I have always been a fan of “Entrepreneur Magazine” and always look forward to a quite moment that I can sit down and read it.  The .com version of this magazine compliments the print version by adding tons of tools, articles, blogs and archived magazine issues.

www.startupnation.com– StartupNation is a free service founded by two entrepreneurs, Jeff and Rich Sloan. The website is virtual onestop shop for entrepreneurs seeking advice, ideas, community and inspiration.

www.biztoolkit.com– This is a website from James J. Hill Research Library.  This is a great “gateway” website that will help you  conduct the research during any stage of your business.

www.business.gov – Business.gov, the official business link to the U.S. Government, is managed by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) in a partnership with 21 other federal agencies. This partnership, known as Business Gateway, is a Presidential E-government initiative that provides a single access point to government services and information to help the nation’s businesses with their operations.

These websites are only 4 of the many sites that I visit on a weekly basis.  Because most small business owners do not have the time to spend countless hours “surfing”, these are great websites to start with and will get you to the right resources.
